BISHOPS OF CANADA ANNOUNCE CHANGES AT SEMINARY BEFORE NEW ACADEMIC YEAR

His Grace, Metropolitan Lawrence Huculak, OSBM on behalf of the Ukrainian Catholic Bishops in Canada, has announced the appointed Fr. Greg Faryna, a priest of the Eparchy of Edmonton, as Vice-Rector of Holy Spirit Seminary in Edmonton. From 1 January 2021, he will serve as Vice-Rector and a "coadjutor" of sorts to the present Rector, Fr. Michael Winn, until the latter's extended term concludes on the eve of June 30th, 2021.

Fr. Michael Winn, a priest of the Archeparchy of Winnipeg, served two 5-year terms as Rector of the Seminary when it was still located in Ottawa. He agreed, however, to stay on for another two years as the seminary moved to Edmonton to help with the whole transition process. Now that a new rector has been appointed to succeed him, Fr. Winn will conclude the very special ministry that he accepted to form a generation of priests for the Ukrainian Catholic Church in Canada.

The Bishops also announced another appointment to the Seminary staff - that of a Director of Spiritual Formation in the person of another long-serving priest of the Edmonton Eparchy, Fr. Mihajlo Planchak. This is not a new position for Fr. Planchak as he has served as spiritual director of the Seminary before.

Please pray daily for the Seminary and all our Seminarians
