May 4th, 2019 was the date of the Windup for the Youth Winter Games sponsored by the Knights of the Ukrainian Catholic Archeparchy. It was held at the Parish Centre of Sts. Peter and Paul Parish, 400 Marion Street, Winnipeg, and was attended by approximately ninety people. His Grace Archbishop Lawrence Huculak gave a brief message, led all in prayer, and presented two of the Trophies.

Other presenters were Brian Petrynko of Carpathia Credit Union, (major sponsor), and Walter Klopick of Tenderloin Meat and Sausage (sponsor).


Bishop's Trophy, for the greatest increase in youth participation: Blessed Virgin Mary Parish

Joe Kulyk Trophy, for the most participation by parish youth: St Joseph Parish

Challenge Trophy, for the greatest success in the games: Saint Anne's Parish

K.U.C.A Trophy, for the most participation by a Council: St. Josaphat Council

Jim Duff Sportsmanship Trophies: Nicholas Buternowsky, Olivia Nowosad.

Pizza, pop, snacks, and ice cream were enjoyed by all.

Lively music kept the dance floor busy, and, as well, the youths played several carnival type games; each received various prize items to take home.

All in all, the Windup was a very fitting conclusion to another successful year of Youth Winter Games (Bowling, Curling, Mini Olympics, Winter Carnival, Soccer) organized by the Knights of the Ukrainian Catholic Archeparchy (K.U.C.A.).
