New Addition to CNEWA Team

May 24, 2017

Catholic Near East Welfare Association (CNEWA) Canada announces the arrival of Anna Dombrovska as Project Officer to coordinate the organization’s work in Ukraine. Dombrovska brings to CNEWA a wealth of experience working with the Ukrainian community both abroad and in Canada.

“I’m thrilled to join the CNEWA team as its mission is one that’s close to my heart,” said Dombrovska. “Having grown up in Kyiv, Ukraine, I’ve witnessed firsthand of some of the turmoil Ukrainians face in the country on a daily basis – and it has given me great motivation to work to make a difference in the lives of those affected.”

Dombrovska most recently worked as a project coordinator for Tribute to Liberty, a Canadian charity whose mission is to establish a Canadian memorial to commemorate the victims of Communism, where she provided help with fund raising, event planning and communications. Anna is a founder of a grass-roots pro-democracy organization EuroMaidan Ottawa. She has also worked as a special assistant at the Embassy of Ukraine in Canada and press officer at the Canadian Election Observation Mission in Ukraine, where she coordinated media interviews and researched issues related to press freedom.

“Anna is a welcome addition to the CNEWA team,” said Carl Hétu, Canadian National Director at CNEWA Canada. “Her experience in project management and fund raising with the Ukrainian-Canadian community will help us to strengthen our efforts as we work to support our brothers and sisters in Ukraine.”

Dombrovska currently lives in Ottawa. She is fluent in Ukrainian.
