METROPOLITAN LAWRENCE CELEBRATES BIRTHDAY

Metropolitan Lawrence Huculak, OSBM was born in Vernon, British Columbia on 25 January 1951. Since then life - especially as his monastic and priestly vocation blossomed - has taken him through Mundare, Rome, Edmonton and Winnipeg and, more recently, Saskatchewan since he was appointed the Apostolic Administrator of the Eparchy of Saskatoon in April of last year.

Metropolitan Lawrence's birthday is always a special occasion for the faithful and this year is no exception. For a few days already well-wishers have been dropping in to express their best wishes on a personal level or on behalf of organizations.

On Tuesday, the Сhancery staff took time to have lunch together with His Grace and to present him with a traditional candle-lit cake and sing him a heartfelt "Happy Birthday" and "Многая літа!". The events will carry on into next week - including a special gathering with the clergy of the Archeparchy and other guests for prayer and fellowship.

The seminarians and seminary staff of Canada's Ukrainian Catholic Holy Spirit Seminary in Edmonton - together with the seminarians and staff of Saint Joseph Roman Catholic Seminary - also situated in Edmonton - sent His Grace a specially recorded YouTube video in which they wish him their very best...
