FATHER BOHDAN OFFERS THANKS FOR ALMOST 40 YEARS OF PRIESTHOOD

FATHER BOHDAN BOROWEC THANKS THE LORD FOR HIS GRACE AND THE CONSTANT INTERCESSION OF HIS BLESSED MOTHER FOR HIS PRIESTLY VOCATION

It was a day late, but not even a penny short of the richness of God's abundant grace, as Father Bohdan Borowec (о. Богдан Боровець) concelebrated a Divine Liturgy of thanksgiving on the 38th anniversary since his ordination to the priesthood. In 1984, on December 16th - a day as snowy as this Winnipeg winter Saturday - His Grace, the late Metropolitan Maxim Hermaniuk, CSsR, ordained then deacon Bohdan Borivets to the priesthood. Since then, Father Bohdan served in such parishes as the Cathedral, Christ the King, the parishes of the Fisher Branch area, among others. Unfortunately, he has also bore long struggles with health issues, but he remains open to performing pastoral duties when possible.

At the close of the Divine Liturgy at Blessed Virgin Mary Parish church in Winnipeg, on December 17th, Father Bohdan spoke a few words about the journey of his priestly vocation. He sincerely - and occasionally emotionally - expressed his deep gratitude to Mary the Mother of God for what he sees as her constant intercession throughout his life.

Of course, the little celebration concluded with a heartfelt "Mnohaya Lita!" asking the Lord to continue to bless Father Bohdan with good health and a long life of continued priestly ministry.

Please keep Father Bohdan and all priests in your Prayer...
