Archeparchial Financial Council


 

An organ of collaboration of the Christian faithful with the archeparchial bishop in the administration of the financial matters of the entire Archeparchy. The archeparchial finance council is presided over by the Archeparch of Winnipeg and is composed of at least three members of the Christian faithful appointed by him. The councillors are to be outstanding for moral integrity, capable of evaluating financial choices with an ecclesial spirit, and expert in civil law or finance, as testified by their professional qualifications and testimonials. The financial council is a new initiative of the Archeparchy and was established in January of 2003. Current members are:

Parishes Beware!
The Canada Revenue Agency recently released a pamphlet entitled, “Registered Charities: What’s new?” This pamphlet announces some very significant changes to the law affecting some 85,000 registered charities in Canada, including churches, which includes the parishes of the Archeparchy of Winnipeg. If you misplaced your copy, it is still available at the CRA website. Mr. Walter Dubowec, FCA, CIRP (ret’d), a member of the Archeparchy of Winnipeg Financial Council has prepared a small FAQ for all parishes.
